Nourishment Is About Much More Than Just Food

A very basic definition of nutrition is the process of taking in nutrients from the foods you eat. You may be wondering, "What exactly are 'nutrients' though?"  Well, there are six main nutrients: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, water, vitamins, and minerals. We obtain all six of these from the foods we eat, and the things we drink; essentially whatever we put into our bodies. However, there are so many more "nutrients" that we absorb throughout the day.

Our being can tell when we are uncomfortable and need to be somewhere else, or have something else. It can tell when we need to be away from the noise and in a quiet place for a while. It can tell when we have been struggling for a long time and need a little physical touch to feel that energy from someone else. Often times we tell ourselves these things are insignificant and don't deserve our efforts or attentions, but it is the total opposite!

Slowing Down Can Help You Lose Weight!

Kind of a curious idea isn’t it? We’ve been conditioned to have this thought that we have to be working out 3-5 days a week for an hour or more, while still being able to maintain a full-time job, family responsibilities, and go out with friends. Just writing that out was tiring..
